Erev Rosh Hashanah: Help Build the JCA Outdoor Clay Oven
for Wood-Fired Baking
All ages. All kids must be supervised by their parent/adult.
Outdoors: team up with a master baker and a mason to help build the new JCA clay oven.
Indoors: enjoy Rosh Hashanah crafts and kitchen baking activities
Sunday, September 23rd, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Erev Sukkot: Gleaning with Rachel’s Table
Ages 5+. All kids must be supervised by their parent/adult.
Transportation is provided from the JCA to a nearby farm. Gleaning is the gathering of grain or produce left after harvest. The practice of gleaning dates back to the biblical tradition of leaving the corners of the fields for those in need to harvest. We will work with Rachel’s Table to glean crops that will be donated to agencies, including soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters.
