Dear friends,
So much has happened since the end of the High Holidays, a little more than a month ago, but the experience of sharing these solemn days with you continues to reverberate somewhere in my spirit.
What satisfied me most was how truly “communal” they were. It was my goal that these services not be perceived as typical “frontally-led” experiences, but as a fabric woven out of the talent and thoughtfulness of the community itself. Particularly when it came to the spoken word, this goal was abundantly realized in heartfelt community reflections and stunning poetry.
I’m so glad to be able to share with you now this “Literary Supplement“, containing all of the words that were shared from Erev Rosh Hashanah to Neilah. I’m honored to include my four HIgh Holiday sermons among them.
I want to express my immense gratitude to Jan Levy, for pulling this document together and making it available to us. It is a testament to the enduring strength of the JCA. I hope it will provide food for continued thought and inspiration as the year moves on.
b’shalom,
RBW
